Raised in the Appalachian foothills along the Ohio River in OH, AJ Evans is an artist who works primarily in oil and acrylic paint. From a young age, Evans found inspiration and comfort from nature which helped to guide their early blossoming interest in art. As a child and teenager, Evans became focused on developing graphite drawing skills with both real and fantasy creatures before transitioning to painting in highschool. From 2018 to 2022, Evans attended Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH and further practiced painting, leaning more heavily into horror and fantasy influences and blending it with a love for nature and an attraction to themes of abandonment, familiarity, and comfort.
