AJ Evans is an artist currently based in Wintersville, Ohio who works primarily in paint. Evans has been interested in art since childhood, focusing on drawing before beginning painting in high school. Attending Oberlin College, Evans majored in Studio Art and East Asia Studies and minored in Art History. Drawn to themes of nature, darkness, and death, Evans uses horror and fantasy inspired subjects such as skeletons, foxes, possums, and other creatures to create intimate scenes that are thematically and aesthetically dark while also holding comfortable and familiar feelings.
